attitude towards teaching
- the idea behind setting up an organisation like goodteachers.eu run by teachers who understand the importance of openness and rapport between teacher and student was to find a way out of the tired and staid formula of the Communicative Method of teaching. By allowing professional teachers the independence to experiment with different approaches based on years of collective teaching experience a new methodology emerged which consolidates the effective aims of the Communicative Method and develops it further into the field of human psychology.
- a methodologist must always keep their finger on the pulse of teaching and that pulse lies in the needs of their students and felt strongest in the myriad different ways they have to learning – you can only ever be fully aware of it through teaching
- language is constantly evolving and once you’ve committed yourself to learn it’s a lifetime commitment. I hope when a student starts learning with me that commitment becomes more willing and enthusiastic as they progress and develop further
future plans
- to see the world... before it goes
